 How to Remove, Hide, delete/clear recent files from Quick access and file Explorer(This PC) in Windows 11 that's what we're gonna see in this post.  After installing Windows 11, the first thing i noticed as usual is Windows 11 tracking the recent files i had opened in my start menu, File explorer (This PC) and much more areas. Though this feature exists for so long in previous versions of Windows as well, it worries a lot particularly, when your Windows 11 OS PC is being used by all others/ Family members. How do i find recent files in windows 11 or Where can i find recent files in Windows 11?

Just open your This PC, you can see them under Quick access ribbon. Also right click on Windows Explorer icon on taskbar. You can see them too. Luckily, there was a feature called timeline, which was now removed. 

Enough, intro let's get into Action..

How to Remove/Hide/delete/ clear recent files from Quick access and file Explorer in Windows 11

Do i need to do registry tweaks or download Special kind of Software to do this? If Someone, asks you to do that, Stop! Because you don't need that.

Just follow the below Steps..

1) Press Windows logo Key and E keys on your Keyboard.

(Or) Double click on This PC icon from desktop.

2) In the file explorer that opens, expand the Ribbon and click on the ... Option on title bar.

This option "..." Will be available next to View Option.

3) It will open a new Window named "Folder options"  on that if you had scrolled down, you will see a tab called Privacy


Under that there will be two check boxes named 

Show recently used files in Quick access and Show frequently used folders in Quick access Uncheck the two boxes.

If you wanna remove or Clear File Explorer History then just click on Clear button

4) Click on Apply and Click on OK.
