“Error Encountered” when checking for Windows Updates in Windows 10 and Windows 7 [Solution that Might Work]

“Error Encountered, We couldn’t connect to the update service. We’ll try again later, or you can check now. If it still doesn’t work, make sure that you‘re connected to the Internet.” this might be the error message that you might encounter while you click/tap check for updates option in Windows Update. If you got the above error, then you are not the only one, as an article confirming on Microsoft site, says More number of people are affected of this issue..

So, Is this because of any changes you made to PC?

No, its because of   data corruption error from the Microsoft site, which was later rectified and clarified by Microsoft.

 Here is what Microsoft says..

The Windows Update service was impacted by a data corruption issue in an external DNS service provider global outage on January 29, 2019. The issue was resolved on the same day and Windows Update is now operating normally, but a few customers have continued to report issues connecting to the Windows Update service. We expect these issues will go away as downstream DNS servers are updated with the corrected Windows Update DNS entries.

As per the latest update, it seems the issue was fixed, but there are some people who still got the above error.

So, if you are the one, then follow the below steps..
