.PDF files became one of the common type of files used now, so most of the applications 

are now released with the inbuilt pdf viewer, like that being a browser Microsoft Edge too 

have an option to view or open .pdf files in Windows 10. But, Many of us have a favorite pdf 

viewer application and want that to open pdf files resides on our PC. Microsoft Edge the 

browser from Microsoft steals the controls of our applications unless we order Windows to 

not open .pdf files with Microsoft Edge.

Just follow the following steps..

1) Press Windows logo on your keyboard.

2) Type default app settings

3) Click on the default app settings option appearing on top of settings screen.

4) It will open default apps settings page, on the right pane, scroll down and select choose 

apps by file type option.

5) Clicking on it will open a new settings page with many programs and their associated file 

types.on that scroll down, till you find .pdf option

6) When you found out, you will see the respective application set to open .pdf files for 

example : you will find Microsoft EDGE.

7) Now, click on the EDGE option, it will immediately open "Choose an option" box, below 

that it will display the applications that will open .pdf files simply select it, for example : 

Chrome...

8) Close the window.
